Native to chalky and mountainous slopes, this ornamental onion is perfect for poor or difficult soil types. It, like chives, has a tendency to spread though this cultivar has sterile seeds and will not self-sow. 'Summer Beauty' has pink/purple globe flowers that rise above long, slender, medium green leaves that bloom in late summer. It is also deer and rabbit resistant and will however attract butterflies.
