This genus was created by crossing coral bells and foam flowers, and thank goodness because Heucherella is now a staple in shade gardens. Plants prefer moist, well-draining soils in part shade but can tolerate other light conditions provided moisture is consistent. 'Sweet Tea' foamy bells is characterized by mounds of lobed vibrant orange leaves with large burgundy colored veins and are followed by panicles of small, nodding, star-like flowers in shades of white and cream that also function as good cut flowers for bouquets. They suffer from few insects or diseases and leaves can sometimes be evergreen.
