Jacob's ladder is an underused perennial that is prized for its tiny clusters of spring flowers. 'Touch of Class' was selected for its cream and green variegated leaflets (resembling rungs of a ladder) and tiny pale blue, bell-shaped flowers with white stamens. They look extremely attractive near darker colored hostas or other perennials. Jacob's ladder does best in moist, well-drained soils in part shade. No major pest/disease issues and are mostly deer resistant.
Polemonium reptans is an Iowa native.
