One of the few grasses that tolerates some shade and makes a great groundcover. Blades are coarse, rising above a clump forming crown, with a creamy white band down the center and dark green edges. Plants prefer moist soils (even tolerating standing water) and grows best in part shade. Sedge shows some deer resistance. Can be used as an effective groundcover.
