Bloomerang® lilacs are beloved midwestern shrubs for their lack of effort on the gardener's part, dependability, and ability to rebloom once flowers have faded. Shrubs are rounded in maturity and are covered in small clusters of purple, lightly fragrant flowers in spring which then come back for a second bloom period in late summer. Dark green leaves are wavy and elliptical and cover the plant throughout the growing season. Lilacs prefer moist, well-drained soils in full sun though will tolerate a wide range of site conditions (drought, erosion, dry soils, etc.). No serious insect or disease issues and they are not susceptible to powdery mildew like their cousins. This is the tree form of the Bloomerang® Dark Purple lilac.
