Willows make fantastic shrubs for hedging and are great for problem areas that get too much water. ‘Nana’ is prized for its blue-green, narrow foliage and very dense branching habit. Insignificant grey-colored catkins can be found in early spring. Stems will turn purpleish as the growing season progresses and can be very ornamental in the winter once the leaves have dropped. Dwarf willows do best in moist, well-drained soils in full sun. They will tolerate some part shade and do well in poor soils.
