Junipers thrive in drought conditions or other equally dry sites. It is discernible by its green scale-like foliage that covers the stems and remains attractive throughout the year. Brown bark can be seen amidst the foliage in strips adding texture and color. Junipers do best in average, well-drained soils in full sun, although they will tolerate clay, urban conditions, and rocky, dry soils. They are intolerant of wet conditions. 'Sea Green' was chosen for its compact habit, arching, fountain-like branching, and dark green needles that hold their color well through winter.
