Lungwort have been long favorites of gardeners for the spotted foliage. Like hostas, most grow them for the leaves alone - however they have very beautiful pink, drooping flower clusters in early spring. Silver, irregular spots cover the dark green lanceolate leaves the rest of the growing season. Lungwort do best in moist, well-drained soils in shade and a layer of mulch is best to help maintain consistent moisture levels. 'Raspberry Splash' has a profusion of raspberry-coral blooms held on arching sprays appears above the lush silver-spotted foliage throughout spring. Works well to create a lush underplanting to hostas and ferns. Resistant to powdery mildew. An herbaceous perennial.
