Meadow sage is a very popular flowering perennial that is cherished for its ease of cultivation and extended blooming period. Summer brings tall spikes of white flowers that rise above the leathery green aromatic leaves. The flowers are often visited by butterflies and other pollinators as well. Plants rarely suffer from insect or disease issues and because of the fragrant leaves, deer tend to eat other things. Meadow sage does best in average, well-drained soils in full sun. For optimal bloom period, plants should be cut back after initial flowering to encourage more blossoms. 'Bumblesnow' has crisp, pure white flowers that are held above a petite mass of dark green leaves. It will happily rebloom after deadheading. This low-maintenance perennial is adored by bees and butterflies and not enjoyed by deer or rabbits.
