Manchurian lilacs are beloved midwestern shrubs for their lack of effort on the gardener's part, dependability, and carefree attitude when blooming. In spring, 'Miss Kim' has small clusters of pale lavender flowers that have a spicy, sweet fragrance. Dark green leaves are wavy and elliptical and cover the plant throughout the growing season before turning burgundy in autumn. Manchurian lilacs prefer moist, well-drained soils in full sun though will tolerate a wide range of site conditions (drought, clay, salts, dry soils, etc.). No serious insect or disease issues and they are not susceptible to powdery mildew like their cousins. Tree form of the shrub.
