Ninebark are named for their peeling layers of bark and are considered powerhouses in the landscape due to their dependability, adaptability, and aesthetic value. Ginger Wine® ninebark expands the color palette for these easy care, native flowering shrubs. Spring foliage emerges a sunny orange color and matures to sparkling burgundy. The bark is also very attractive during late fall and winter when it is not hidden behind leaves. Late spring brings clusters of small white flowers that cover the shrub before fading to red seed heads that can be quite ornamental. Prefers well-drained soils in full sun and will tolerate most growing conditions, including clay, drought, erosion, flooding, salts, varied soil pH's, etc. No serious disease or insect issues. was selected for its colorful display of orange, gold, and green leaves, burgundy fall color, and compact, dense habit.
