Siberian cypress, or Russian arborvitae, is an excellent evergreen shrub for massing or creating a groundcover. Clusters of fan-like, soft, bright green needles (think arborvitae) cascade over the ground and in autumn, will have purple undertones. Small spherical cones or berries can also be present. Siberian cypress is extremely cold hardy and virtually disease/insect resistant. It grows best in well-drained soils in full sun but will also tolerate periods of drought and shaded areas (afternoon shade helps keep foliage in good condition). Celtic Pride® was chosen for its extreme cold hardiness, resistance to tip dieback, and uniform growth habit.
