Arrowwood viburnums are very popular natives because of their multi season interest and tolerance to varied growing conditions. With spring comes the onset of broad, flat, lacy white flowers that attract butterflies and other pollinators and eventually mature into drooping clusters of bluish-black berries in autumn. Glossy, dark green, pointed/toothed oval leaves cover the plant throughout the growing season and often have varied fall color displays in shades of red, orange, or yellow. Plants have little to no disease or insect problems and are found in moist, well-drained soils (though tolerable of clay, salts, and other growing conditions) in full sun or part shade. As the plant matures, it also has some drought tolerability. Autumn Jazz® was selected for its vase-shaped habit and orange/yellow/burgundy fall color.
