Blackberry lily is a fantastic choice for a carefree splash of yellow in the landscape. Iris-like leaves emerge in early spring and by late summer, golden star-like flowers unfurl and, if left on the plant, produce seed heads that look exactly like blackberries. Plants thrive in well-drained soils in full sun and once mature, can tolerate drought conditions very well. Plants will multiple via rhizomes over time and are great in borders or when massed. Blackberry lily is mostly disease and insect resistant and seed pods make good dried flowers for bouquets or crafts. Formerly known as Belamcanda chinensis.
