Bleeding hearts have long been adored for their spring flowers and most have fond memories of this plant in their mother's or grandmother's gardens. A companion to 'Pink Diamonds', 'White Diamonds' is an alpine version of bleeding heart. It has small, multiple, pure white, heart-shaped flowers arranged in lines on stems, that have small white hanging petals that give the hearts an effect of "bleeding". Glaucous blue-green foliage is finely textured, lending to the common name of 'Fern-leaved Bleeding Heart'. This variety of bleeding heart is a long bloomer with mulitple bloom times; and does best in full sun, unlike most varieties of bleeding heart. Plants tend to be disease, insect, and rabbit resistant and flowering stems make great cut flowers for bouquets.
