Laced Up™ European elderberry is a very exotic looking plant that does well in Midwestern climates. It is characterized by lacy, deeply cut black foliage and in early summer is accented with flat topped, slightly fragrant clusters of pink flowers. This cultivar's growth habit is also unique amongst other elderberries in that it grows only several feet wide; making it a perfect option for tight spaces or areas where a vertical accent is desired. European elderberries do best in moist, well-drained conditions in full sun to part shade and will tolerate clay soils.
