'Variegatus' is an exceptional grass prized for its bicolored blades and substance in the landscape; easily reaching great heights in the right growing conditions. Another added benefit is its adaptability to soils, including tolerance to drought, clay, wet, and eroding soils. Seed heads emerge reddish-bronze in late summer and fade to silver by winter. If foliage and seed heads are left in autumn, they will provide excellent texture throughout winter.
