Layers of rich, copper colored bark peels back to expose more layers of attractive color. Leaves emerge in deep green shades and eventually turn varying shades of red, orange, and brown by fall. Large, showy samaras persist through much of summer adding more ornamental interest. These maples tolerate clay soil with ease; preferring more moist conditions over drought. This is definitely a tree for four season interest or the ornamental landscape.
