Ribbon grass makes an excellent ground cover for all soil types, including droughty or consistently wet sites. In fact, it's a great grass for avoiding soil eroison against ponds or creeks. Ribbon grass is recognized by its wide blades edged in green and white "ribbons" that add beautiful texture and stateliness to the landscape. Although this grass can be an aggressive spreader (if it is sited in optimal conditions), it makes a great grass for containers or even the partially shaded garden.
