Stonecrop is one of the best plants for xeriscaping or water-wise gardens in part due to their succulent-like nature. They thrive in the heat and full sun and don't mind being on the drier side too. Thought of as one of the best varigated sedums, 'Varigatum' is a low-growing, mat-forming, semi-evergreen perennial with fleshy, spoon shaped leaves delicately margined with creamy white and tinged pink. Adorned with showy clusters of small, golden-yellow flowers in summer. Stonecrop does best in well-drained soils and can even be planted between rocks, pavers, and other small areas where other perennials may otherwise grow. They are also relatively disease/insect resistant and rabbits and deer tend to avoid them.
