ACCOLADE™ is an elm that was originally grown at the Morton Arboretum in Illinois and was selected for its resistant to Dutch elm disease and other insect pests. It is a fairly large tree that is tolerant of alkaline and droughty soils, however it prefers average, well drained moist soils. It has four season interest: samaras in spring, glossy green foliage in summer, good yellow fall color, and vase shaped architecture in the winter. Elms are also prized for their ability to withstand various growing conditions, thus it does well as a street tree or a shade tree.
