This ornamental onion is prized for its clump forming habit of flat, medium green leaves, rosy purple flower heads that appear in the heat of the summer, and its tendency to be easy to care for. It can tolerate different soil types and various water needs, as well as take the heat and humidity. An added bonus is that it is deer and rabbit resistant and does well as a cut flower. Attracts butterflies. 2018 Perennial Plant of the Year.
