Rocky Mountain juniper thrives in drought conditions or other equally dry sites. It is discernible by its silvery-blue scale-like foliage that covers the stems and retains its color throughout the year. Reddish-brown bark can be seen amidst the foliage adding texture and color. 'Blue Arrow' is also known for its smaller habit and very narrow, upright shape making it perfect for very tight spaces. Silvery-blue berries appear throughout the growing season and add ornamental interest. Junipers do best in average, well-drained soils in full sun. They are intolerant of wet conditions.
