Stonecrop is one of the best plants for xeriscaping or water-wise gardens in part due to their succulent-like nature. They thrive in the heat and full sun and don't mind being on the drier side too. In the heat of the summer, 'Night Light' explodes into a kaleidoscope of colors with tiny masses of pale yellow/pink, star-like flowers that cover the purple and green foliage until fall. Stems are also very sturdy and hold the flowers upright, even through winter if left uncut. Stonecrop does best in well-drained soils and can even be planted between rocks, pavers, and other small areas where other perennials may otherwise grow. They are also relatively disease/insect resistant and rabbits and deer tend to avoid them.
