Swedish aspen's best features include its golden fall color, fast growth rate, narrow form, and ability to naturalize readily. Swedish aspen are recognized by their small, pointed/circular, deep green fluted leaves that tremble silvery in the slightest breeze and their green-white bark. This aspen is also extremely narrow/columnar in shape and is perfect for tight spaces. Aspen are at home in consistently moist, well drained soils where they can colonize and naturalize freely. Aspen are intolerant however of urban conditions but can tolerant varying soil types. Aspen do best in areas where summers stay cool.
