Foam flowers bloom in spring and the bright flowers seem to sparkle above the dark foliage. 'Candy Striper' was selected for its fluffy white flower spikes with pink accents. It also has very craggy, deeply lobed, dark green leaves; reminiscent of a Jurassic era plant with dark burgundy colored veins. Plants prefer average, well-draining soils in part shade to full shade and crowns will benefit from a good layer of mulch. Flowers also function as good cut flowers for small bouquets. Foam flowers suffer from few insects or diseases and leaves can sometimes be evergreen.
