This hybrid oak came from a cross between the English and bur oaks and obtained great qualities from both parents. Throughout most of the growing season, the pyramidal canopy of Heritage® is covered in dark, glossy green leaves (similar to an English oak) that are resistant to a number of foliar diseases, including powdery mildew and resistance to leaf tatter. It also boasts good cold hardiness (from the bur oak lineage), rich yellow fall color, and is quite adaptable/durable to most growing conditions. Abundant acorns appear in autumn and start producing once the tree reaches maturity. Heritage® oaks do best in full sun in well-drained soils and tolerate most urban site conditions. Perfect choice for a street, shade, or park tree!
