False spirea is a very airy and feathery plant that makes a statement when massed together. 'Matcha Ball' sends out new, fern-like foliage in hints of red and orange-peach; turning green in summer and to yellow in autumn. Panicles of creamy-white, cotton candy like plumes appear in summer and draw in pollinators. They prefer moist, well-drained soils in full sun but are known to tolerate drought and clay. Care should be taken when planting as false spirea can spread via roots. No major insect or disease issues.
