Bleeding hearts have long been adored for their spring flowers and most have fond memories of this plant in their mother's or grandmother's gardens. It is a showstopper in spring, with small, multiple, two-toned pink heart-shaped flowers arranged in lines on stems, that have small hanging petals that give the hearts an effect of "bleeding". 'Pink Diamonds' is an alpine type of Dicentra and therefore does best in full sun and well-drained soils. Plants tend to be disease, insect, and rabbit/deer resistant and flowering stems make great cut flowers for bouquets. 'Pink Diamonds' also may rebloom in the fall once weather cools.
